Hwang Eui-jo (31, Seoul)’s home team, Bordeaux, failed to return to the first division due to a spectator intrusion in the final game where promotion was at stake.
The French Football Federation (LPF) announced on the 13th that it had concluded that Bordeaux was disqualified from the final match against Rodez in the Ligue 2 (2nd division), holding them accountable for not stopping fans from rioting at home.
Bordeaux’s nightmare was a problem when they gave up the opening goal to Lucas Buades in the 23rd minute of the first half against Rodez on the 3rd, when they needed a big win to promote to the first division.
In a situation where multiple goals were needed, an unexpected accident occurred when the goal was conceded backwards. A Bordeaux fan broke into the ground and knocked over Bouadez during the goal ceremony. Buades was taken to the hospital with a concussion and the game was suspended.
Bordeaux requested the association to resume the match, but ended up disqualifying and finished the season in 3rd place. Only the 1st and 2nd places in League Doo can be promoted to Division 1, Ligue 1.
Bordeaux was also deducted one point for the next season, as well as an additional penalty of closing the stands for intruding spectators for four games.먹튀검증
