Golf emperor’ Tiger Woods underwent another surgery. Woods’ appearances in the remaining three major tournaments of the PGA (American Professional Golf) Tour this season have virtually disappeared.
On the 20th (Korean time), Woods announced on social media that he had undergone ankle surgery. It was an operation to treat inflammation of the ankle bone in the right ankle, which was seriously injured in a car accident in February 2021. Woods underwent surgery at a New York hospital and began rehabilitation at his home in Jupiter, Florida.
During the 2021 accident, Woods suffered severe compound fractures that nearly amputated his leg. After his constant rehabilitation efforts, he participated in the Masters last year and succeeded in a miraculous comeback.
Woods also competed at the Masters this year, but withdrew during the third round after showing a limp. It raised concerns that there might be a problem with his injured part, but in the end, he went back to the operating table.
